Vincent J. Getzendanner is a co-founder and managing partner in the firm of Madigan & Getzendanner.
Prior to co-founding the firm in 1972, Mr. Getzendanner served as a law clerk for an Illinois Supreme Court Justice (1966–68) and as a Commissioner of the Illinois Industrial Commission (1969–1972). His private practice has focused on commercial litigation, administrative law and ad valorem real estate taxation. He has litigated a wide range of complex cases, including class actions, at the trial and appellate levels in State and Federal Courts. He has served as the Court-appointed Trustee in administering large national classes involving millions of claimants. Germane to the real estate tax practice, he has successfully prosecuted innumerable judicial appeals of real estate tax assessments recovering tens of millions of dollars in tax refunds for property owners. He has also taken a lead role in successfully defending property owners against actions brought by local taxing districts seeking real estate tax increases.
